Clinics performing these laser treatments will offer some form of cooling method or icing to reduce discomfort but some patients might experience some pain. You are advised to wear sunscreen 2-4 weeks following any laser treatment, as the skin will be more sensitive to sunlight.

The light from the laser is attracted to the melanin within the hair, resulting in a short bolt of heat travelling down to the root. This concentrated heat damages the follicle and interferes with the growth cell. It usually takes between six and eight sessions to completely clear an area.
